Reality TV fans either love the 90 Day Fiancé franchise or hate it. For those who love it, it’s one of the wackiest and most addictive shows on TV. The series follows international couples pursuing the K-1 visa, which gives them 90 days to get married after arrival to the U.S. Naturally, this makes for some good TV. It’s even spawned a slew of spinoffs, including 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, in which Americans leave everything to go to live with their beloved overseas.
With so many ridiculous moments, the show offers fans a steady stream of guilty pleasures and meme-worthy material. Unsurprisingly, this has resulted in some pretty hilarious memes floating around the internet.
Updated Oct. 4, 2021 by Paul Ciampanelli: In 2021, Discovery+ debuted, and with it came even more 90 Day Fiancé spinoff shows, much to the delight of the franchise’s many devotees. As the 90 Day monster grows and grows, the stream of franchise-inspired memes grows with it.
Darcey And Stacey In Flames
One of the breakout stars of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Darcey Silva served fans plenty of drama during the show’s first season, which tracked the highs and lows of Darcey’s relationship with Georgi Rusev. The season also gave viewers Darcey’s identical twin sister, Stacey. The chemistry between the twins was strong enough to earn them their own spinoff, Darcey & Stacey.
Darcey and Stacey’s sisterhood is, like the rest of their lives, chaotic. This meme from Reddit user u/MeeMaul sums it up perfectly. He recreated the twins in The Sims, and they literally set themselves on fire. They haven’t done anything that drastic in real life. Of course not. Yet the essence in this meme is so dead-on. It’s a beautiful examples of fiction that’s truer than truth.
Why The Long Face, Jenny?
There are couples on 90 Day Fiancé that viewers adore, because both people involved are truly lovely, and, at worst, they have to deal with drama dealt by their families or other outside forces. Then there are those couples in which both partners go unloved by fans. Prime example: Sumit and Jenny.
Many 90 Day Fiancé detest Sumit for his attitude, behavior and the way he treats Jenny. However, they also dunk on Jenny for being a bit of a sad sack. This meme perfectly encapsulates her dejected look with a comparison that anyone can relate to from their childhood.
It’s All Jihoon’s Fault
Deaven has a reputation among 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way viewers. The eternally miserable American seems to never take responsibility for herself, whether it’s within the show when she shifts blame onto fiancé Jihoon, or outside of the show when she blames “the edit” for her unlikable portrayal.
This meme boils down to its purest form what drives 90 Day Fiancé fans nuts about Deaven. What problem can’t she blame on Jihoon? Apparently nothing, not even an act of God that no one on Earth can control. Or so everyone thought.
Nut Job, Starring Rose And Big Ed
The most devoted fans live 90 Day Fiancé and breathe its spinoffs. For anyone who has committed the time to watching the series and its various iterations and offshoots, the show takes over their lives. They start to recognize its elements everywhere, even in other TV shows and movies.
A 90 Day Fiancé fan was watching the 2014 computer animated movie Nut Job when they realized something about the characters of Andie and Mole. The squirrel and the mole bear an uncanny resemblance to iconic 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days couple Rose and Big Ed, right down to the framing and facial expressions in these shots. It takes a certain kind of person to even notice this, but once seen, it can’t be unseen.
Warning Young Russ
Russ and Paola Mayfield are legends of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, having told their story in the core series’ debut season. Since then, they have continued to appear in spinoffs, and it’s been a bumpy ride. From the move to Miami to drama with Juan to, recently, Paola’s pro wrestling career, a lot has happened to this couple.
This meme uses an iconic scene of Jim Halpert on The Office to illustrate how things have changed over the years for Russ. He, his wife and his life bear little resemblance to the way they were in 2014. 90 Day Fiancé fans do a lot of speculating about how happy Russ is these days, and this meme paints a bleak picture.
Bad Luck Azan
Poor Azan. All he wanted was a lady to scam a green card out of so he could go to America and harvest the sweet dollars. Instead, he got someone who is head over heels in love with him, vowing to do everything to make their relationship work.
Nicole was even willing to pack up her daughter and move to Morocco when the visa didn’t appear to be working out. Unfortunately, the couple has decided not to take part in further iterations of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, despite still being together.
Larissa Needs More Biggie (Smalls)
Coltee, Coltee, can’t you see? Larissa needs a house that’s more big-ee. Fans will never forget that infamous scene when Larissa first arrived at Colt and Debbie’s house and was visibly unimpressed with her living conditions. First no flowers at the airport, now this?
When Debbie asked her what she thought of the place, viewers got a dose of the wackiness that is Larissa and the life of luxury she expected in the U.S. Larissa, Colt (and Debbie) went down in 90 Day history as one of the most chaotic, albeit entertaining, couples on the show.
Darcy Cries Over Dinner…Again
It wouldn’t be 90 Day Fiancé without Darcey. Fans who have experienced the joys of bottomless mimosas for the very first time can relate to this meme on a deep level.
Darcey is known for her constant waterworks on the show, and she did not hold back when Tom treated her like any normal, decent human being would. Fans were confused about whether they should laugh or feel sorry for Darcey, which required more mimosas to be consumed during her segments.
Teamwork Makes The Dream Work
Another couple with whom fans have a love/hate relationship is Angela and Michael. Viewers never know what kind of weird surprises they’ll get from Angela, and poor Michael is along for the ride. Having a child is very important to Michael’s culture, but due to Angela’s age, conceiving a child together seemed unlikely for the pair.
Angela fixed the problem what’s the most logical solution she could think of: She asked her daughter to be her egg donor, of course. This scene brought fans the gem of a line from Angela, “I can tote it. I just need your egg.” Reality TV really does not get better than this.
This Awkward Moment Brought To You By Tarik
One of the cringiest moments in 90 Day Fiancé goes to Tarik. He flew out to the Philippines to meet the love of his life, Hazel. As they got to know each other, Tarik found insight into her religion and family. Dean even popped in for a fiery minute to stir things up.
Love conquered in the end, and Tarik proposed to Hazel on the beach with a ring and a song he produced just for her. Hazel definitely seems like the shy type, and this just looked extra embarrassing for her. Fans were cringing for them both.
Pedro’s Favorite Line
Pedro and Chantal’s drama on the show was so plentiful, it warranted its own spinoff: The Family Chantal. It seemed like not a day went by when Pedro and Chantal weren’t fighting. Throw in Chantal’s meddling family along with Pedro’s mother and sister, who loathed Chantal, and fans got plenty of drama.
The truth was not something neither Pedro or Chantal seemed to be good at telling. One fan decided to create this hilarious meme based on a play on words, and it’s everything that’s great about a 90 Day Fiancé meme.
Natalie’s Sinister Side
Mike and Natalie are a definite fan favorite of Before The 90 Days. The way they met was sweet, and they genuinely seem to love each other, which is often a refreshing change of pace on this show. The humble background Mike comes from, along with Natalie’s sweet relationship with her mother, makes for some heartwarming moments. Throw in Uncle Bojangles’ winning smile, and fans had a wholesome love story on their hands.
There is one small bump in Mike and Natalie’s relationship, though. Their visa was delayed, but Natalie wanted to start a family immediately. Mike wanted to postpone the baby-making until Natalie arrived in the U.S. so he could be a part of the experience, but Natalie’s biological clock was ticking way too loudly for her to hear anything Mike had to say.
Rebecca Reveals Her True Self
If there were a couple in which both parties were catfishing each other, it was Zied and Rebecca. Rebecca was a master of filters, and Zied wasn’t particularly honest about his appearance either. Fans won’t soon forget the hilarious moment when they met at the airport, and Zied was wearing a shirt with Rebecca’s heavily filtered face on it.
Appearances weren’t the only deceiving thing in this relationship, as a few secrets Rebecca kept came to light during her time on 90 Day Fiancé. Despite this, Rebecca and Zied appear to be one of the strongest and likable couples from their season and are doing well.
Surprise, Ashleychu
Most fans could see Jay and Ashley’s relationship was doomed from the start. It wasn’t just because of their age difference but where they were at in their lives. This Jamaican holiday romance that turned to marriage in Las Vegas featured no shortage of drama along the way.
The situation reached a peak when Ashley’s friend scooting off into the sunset on her moped after giving Ashley the real truth about Jay. As things turned out, her bestie was right: Jay was unfaithful right from the “I dos.” It’s not really surprising this couple isn’t together anymore, but they made for some entertaining TV when things went south.
One We Can All Relate To
This meme is for every 90 Day Fiancé fan who eagerly awaits Sunday night with drinks and snacks planned. Whether they’re drinking a nice cabernet with some cheese or enjoying a warm, herbal tea and some popcorn, Sundays have become the best night of the week for TV.
Fans are so thankful TLC continuously airs new seasons and spinoffs so they can enjoy the show all year long. Whatever they might be dealing with, they can always count on 90 Day Fiancé to bring a few hours of the quality entertainment to their lives.
