90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After’s Ashley Martson has high hopes for Jay Smith after his release from Immigration Customs and Enforcement custody.

The infamous couple is known for their failed relationship on the TLC franchise, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Martson and Smith were originally introduced in season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé after meeting while Martson was vacationing in Jamaica. Since they married, the two have had to address numerous cheating scandals, deportation for Smith, and a divorce.

Smith was released from York County Prison in Pennsylvania where he was being held by ICE officials after a four-week stay, waiting to hear the outcome of his immigration case. The Jamaican native was originally arrested for violating a protection against abuse order and turned himself in to officials on July 1. Smith was sentenced to one day in jail and to pay a $100 fine for which he was given time served. He was then handed over to immigration officials who were investigating his case.  Smith was released only after his boss gave him the money to post his $5,000 bail. According to In Touch Weekly, his soon-to-be ex-wife, Martson, commented, saying, “I just hope he learned his lesson and respects any future women he chooses to be with.” Earlier this week, before Smith’s release, Martson claimed that she had the power to release Smith from jail. On a recent episode of The Domenick Nati Show, she said, “ I could get Jay out of the detention center tomorrow if I wanted to,” going on to say she “refused to sponsor him for a visa.”

Martson said Smith is a gigantic liability, worrying that if she did sponsor him, she would be responsible for his girlfriend’s rumored baby. While Smith was still in jail, Martson claimed that his girlfriend, Kayla O’Brien, could very well be pregnant. The new couple has allegedly been together since January - the same time Smith was supposed to be working on his relationship with Martson. Addressing the pregnancy rumors, Martson said, “From what I saw - she was at court - she definitely looked like she could’ve been expecting.” However, there has been no official comment from the couple to confirm whether she is actually pregnant or not.

Smith has still not publicly commented about his release from ICE custody after almost spending the entire month of July behind bars and his deportation court date has yet to be announced. Martson’s representative asked that fans keep supporting her during this difficult time in her life. 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After fans will hopefully have an update on the case within the coming weeks, but for now, only time will tell.
