The 90 Day Fiancé couple Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno have been through a lot, and on Family Chantel, Chantel is determined to show Pedro’s family that they are a “united” couple. In spite of the cheating scandals and family feuds, Chantel wants to remind Pedro’s family that she is here to stay in his life.

Pedro and Chantel became household names after starring on season 4 of TLC’s hit show, 90 Day Fiancé. The show documented the early stages of their long-distance relationship and their rocky engagement and their marriage (that her family tried to stop). Pedro, from the Dominican Republic, and Chantel, from Atlanta, Georgia, have had their ups and downs, which revolves around their two opinionated and very different families. With the help of the K-1 fiancé visa, Pedro is living in Atlanta with Chantel. The Everetts and the Jimenos have gone to blows over their differences while protecting their families, and the particularly trying times in the couple’s relationship have been documented from season 2, 3 and 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? In one incident, Pedro decided to go back to the Dominican Republic without his wife and, after too many drinks, he was filmed dirty dancing with one of his sister’s friends. But the drama didn’t stop there. Pedro’s family continued to fight with Chantel, and her family continues to be very vocal about their disagreements with Pedro. The couple recently got their own spinoff, featuring the Everetts, to show all of the drama going down: The Family Chantel.

In spite of the two families bickering, Chantel and Pedro have relentlessly fought for their marriage. In a recent episode of The Family Chantel, Pedro’s beloved grandmother had fallen ill, so he headed back to the Dominican Republic to be by her side. While discussing the situation with her mom, Karen Everett, Chantel told her she plans on going back there with her husband, saying, “I have my wifely duties to my husband. And I have to go back with him to see his sick grandmother.” Karen was quick to remind her daughter, “Don’t forget what he did last time,” adding, “Things are not good between you and Pedro, and obviously not between you and your in-laws.” However, Chantel said that there is no better opportunity than to show Pedro’s family that the couple is a “united front.”

Chantel went on to explain that it is important for her to be there to support her husband and also for “Pedro’s family and friends to realize that him and I are together and this relationship is strong and I’m here to stay.” She specifically wants the other woman to know that she and Pedro are married and she plans to keep it that way. Her mother then offered to go with her to the Dominican Republic, but Chantel refused, saying, “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

Whenever Everetts and the Jimenos are in the same room, there is no way to simply talk through issues, and Chantel may be correct in thinking it would be a better idea to keep the families separated for now. However, what Chantel and Karen don’t know is that Pedro is planning on bringing his mom and sister to the United States for good, and they plan on moving them into the couple’s apartment - which is definitely going to throw a wrench into their relationship as both Pedro’s mom and sister want Pedro to divorce Chantel.
