90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Jenny Slatten says her life is a nightmare after learning that her boyfriend, Sumit is already married. The truth came out on the latest episode, Jenny learns of Sumit’s secret marriage in the worst way possible.
Jenny and Sumit originally met via Facebook, where Sumit catfished the 60-year-old. Jenny received a friend request from a man named Michael Jones, a twenty-something-year-old model who looked nothing like Sumit. Michael Jones turned out to be Sumit, a 30-year-old man from India, who worked in a call center. He admitted on the first episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way that he really liked talking to white girls under the name of an old coworker. Jenny was completely head-over-heels and did not seem to mind the deception as she flew to India fairly quickly to meet Sumit. After deciding on getting married, the couple started living together in an apartment in a different city than Sumit’s family, because he said that his family wouldn’t agree with their relationship. His family, who believed Sumit was away for a new job in a different city, was starting to unravel Sumit’s web of lies.
The fairytale dream Jenny had of coming to India to marry her prince charming, came crashing down on the latest episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. The show’s producers “received a frantic call” from Jenny about a very urgent situation. When cameras arrived, Jenny didn’t hold back the truth she learned about her boyfriend. Jenny explained on the episode (via People), “What happened was worse than anything I could have ever imagined.” The 60-year-old who left everything behind in America to be with Sumit explained how it feels to go through such heartbreak, she said, “It’s like you’re having a nightmare and you wake up and it’s true. That’s what it felt like.” She recalled that it all started when Sumit received a call and he Jenny lock the doors, her first thought being that it was Sumit’s father that would be coming to the door. It turned out to actually be his wife’s father instead.
Jenny recalled feeling totally helpless, saying, “I didn’t know how to react. I didn’t know what to do.” After the father-in-law arrived, Jenny said that in came Sumit’s family members as well as his wife’s family. Sumit was ready to fight as his cousin held him back. Jenny explained that she was trying to pull him into the bedroom, but Sumit’s mother grabbed him and pulled him back in. She recalled, “They asked him, ‘Do you love Jenny?’ and he said, ‘Yes, I love Jenny’” After that moment, Sumit’s wife’s family took him away. She said, “This is a nightmare.” She said through tears, “I don’t know what’s going to happen after this. I don’t belong here.” Jenny then video-chatted with her daughter about the situation, her daughter pleaded with her to come home to America and was angry at Sumit for putting her mom in such a dangerous situation. However, it’s teased at the end of the episode that through all of this, Sumit still plans on being with Jenny.
With Jenny’s future full of uncertainty, it remains to be seen what will happen between Jenny and Sumit. As of right now, audiences are unsure if Jenny can trust Sumit again after he’d lied so well directly to her face. Fans will have to wait for next week to see if Jenny will be forced to go back home to America.
