Michael Ilesanmi and Angela Deem from 90 Day Fiancé were married in Nigeria. The irreverent May/December couple tied the knot Monday in a traditional ceremony.

TLC was on hand with a full camera crew to tape the nuptials for an upcoming episode of the show. The bride wore an ivory, empire-waisted column gown that showcased her ample bosom, and accessorized the look with a crown fit for a queen. As for the groom, he looked sharp in a tailored periwinkle blue suit. In light of the happy occasion, the decision for the couple to wed in Nigeria was not an easy one for the bride. Angela had her heart set on a stateside ceremony that could be attended by her children and grandchildren. There was also the cost of planning a wedding in a different country that created a logistical nightmare for the pair.

Angela and Michael’s path to marriage was further jeopardized by his K-1 visa interview. Just before he spoke with officials about coming to the United States to marry, Angela had strong words for her fiance: “If Michael fails this interview, I told him, ‘we’re probably done.’ What else is there to do? I don’t have the strength. I’m not getting younger. It’s either the K-1 or K-done,” Deem said.

Ultimately, Michael’s bid to enter the country on the K-1 visa was rejected. That decision did not sit well with Angela who vowed to get Michael to the States by any means necessary. She expressed in a recent episode that her status as a taxpayer should have some merit in the immigration process. Still, Michael’s legal team, as well as Angela’s immigration lawyer felt that it would be easier for the pair to undergo the spousal visa process. Although it’s slightly more expensive than the K-1 visa, the CR1 will allow Michael to arrive in Angela’s home state of Georgia in 6-12 months.

Congratulations to Angela and Michael. Their road to married life hasn’t been an easy one, but they’ve put a lot of the naysayers in their place by finally making it to the alter. While 90 Day Fiance has highlighted some of the issues within their relationship, it’s also providing a strong case for how much the couple is willing to fight to be together. The only thing is whether the pair can still be a part of the show since they’ve been forced to pursue the spousal visa  instead. Either way, fans of the couple can rejoice in their happy news. Furthermore, now that Angela and Michael are married, here’s hoping they can start a family soon. If anyone out there knows of a good egg donor, rest assured, Angela can tote it – she just needs that egg!
