90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’s Rebecca Parrott says she “would never allow” abuse from Zied Hakimi. The Tunisian and American couple have been known to have some intense arguments, and fans have certainly noticed.
Parrott and Hakimi stared in the popular TLC series 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, but originally fell in love through the lure of social media. Parrott had already been through the K1 Visa process with her Moroccan husband, but chose to separate from him due to his controlling side. Parrott flew to Tunisia to meet Hakimi to make sure that the two would be compatible, spending almost a month with him. However, their newest physical argument may be the sign that the reality star needs to end their relationship once and for all.
Since the October 6 episode aired, Hakimi had been on the receiving end of a lot of backlash from concerned fans according to In Touch. What led to the public outcry was a stressful scene between Parrott and Hakimi which led to Hakimi placing his hand around Parrott’s neck. Hakimi had been snooping around in his girlfriend’s phone when he stumbled upon an old picture of her and her ex-husband. The reality star became very irate and then demonstrated some abusive behavior. Fans could see Parrott trying to wriggle out of his grasp, but Hakimi held on and pulled her in closer to him.
Parrott took to social media to clear the air and defend her boyfriend, saying that Hakimi had never been abusive to her and that she “would never allow” it to happen in the first place. She went on to tell her fans that it was very dangerous to joke about such a serious subject matter, noting that the rumors need to end. The TLC personality did acknowledge that that preview that was aired made it look as if Hakimi would be hurting her and found the whole clip misleading. But when fans watched the full clip on the latest episode, there were no shades of grey; he had indeed grabbed her by the neck.
No matter what apology Hakimi was trying to extend, it doesn’t erase what viewers saw. The outrage from fans happened quickly, with most of them saying that his behavior should be an instant red flag to Parrott, as it appeared to be a behavior to exert his dominance over her. While the TLC star seemed to be making excuses for her boyfriend’s behavior, fans can only hope that she takes time to discover what’s truly best for her.
