On season 7, episode 5 of 90 Day Fiancé, titled “We need to Talk,” was a scene between Anny and Robert that allowed a new star to emerge: their boxing instructor.
This 90 Day Fiancé episode brought the usual drama - Natalie wanting a child immediately, but Mike wanting to wait; Tania not changing her plans to accommodate Syngin; Sasha showing no interest in his new baby with Emily, Anna and Mursel’s language barriers; and Robert and Anny’s constant issues and disagreements. This week, Anny and Robert continued their fight from last week. The fight is about Robert not deleting social media images with other women. Neither Anny nor Robert want to compromise and fix this ongoing issue, and the 90 Day Fiancé couple decided to handle their problems at the gym. Robert believed that they could get some of their frustration out with each other by taking a boxing class.
Professional boxer and Title Boxing Club instructor Miguel Alejandro Cruz expected a typical day at work, but instead he became an unofficial couple’s counselor for the day. The introduction of Miguel sent single - slightly thirsty - fans spinning. The 90 Day Fiancé fans took to Twitter (via Us Weekly) to share their interest in the 29-year-old boxer.
A few users suggested that Anny dump Robert and take her chances with Miguel. Besides being incredibly good looking, Miguel stole the show during his brief time on the episode. In 90 Day Fiancé, he genuinely seemed interested in finding out Anny and Robert’s story. Miguel stayed neutral by not picking either side; he listened to Anny’s opinions as well as Robert’s without blatantly saying one side was more right or wrong than the other one.
Miguel also made sure to connect with Anny by speaking Spanish with her, but also going back to English to keep Robert feeling included. Miguel acting so interested and understanding made Anny and Robert treat him like their couples counselor. Besides showing compassion and interest in Anny and Robert’s crazy, complicated situation, he offered some hilarious direct to camera responses.
Miguel gave his opinion to the 90 Day Fiancé producers that he didn’t believe that Anny and Robert would make it more than two months as a couple. He also commented that Robert would need to compromise and would have a lot of issues with Anny, but Miguel added that he didn’t know because he wasn’t a couples counselor. Miguel also gave comedic facial responses when Anny and Robert told him the exact process of the K-1 visa and the history of their romance. Miguel also seemed seconds from laughing at the whole ridiculousness of the situation, and during Anny and Robert’s public fighting, but he held it together like a champ. Miguel listening and questioning of Robert and Anny seemed to have temporarily resolved the issue. So, maybe Miguel should consider 90 Day Fiancé marriage counselor as a side gig.
