90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days’ star Tim Malcolm calls the transgender rumors circulating about him during his stint on the show “laughable.” Malcolm’s sexuality has been called into question when he began dating Colombian single mother Jeniffer Tarazona and the fact that he never appeared to have any sexual attraction towards her.
When season 3 of the hit show premiered on TLC in August 2019, Malcolm spoke openly about himself, his past romantic failings, and his budding relationship with Jeniffer. He hails from Charlotte, North Carolina; she, from Bucaramanga, Colombia. Throughout season 3, there was much of the talk and conjecture about Malcolm’s sexuality came into the picture.
Episode 4 of the season showed Malcolm on a flight to see Jeniffer in person for the first time. During a taped confessional, he was interviewed while wearing gold collagen under-eye masks to freshen up for their face-to-face meeting. As the series progressed, Jeniffer questioned Malcolm’s masculinity, even calling him a “p*ssy,” during one episode. He noted on several occasions that he felt emasculated by the South American beauty. Given his continued reticence to enter into sexual activity with Jeniffer during his visit to Colombia, more rumors began to fly. That’s when passionate fans of the show took to social media to weigh in on the conspiracy. Malcolm has been very vocal silencing his haters. He told with ET Online about the controversy regarding his sexuality, saying, “The episode that just aired, you saw me get into a hot tub with Jeniffer, and I saw online that people were literally screen-shotting it and looking for scars that I had my ‘breasts’ removed.”
However, Malcolm has a good attitude about his newfound fame, saying, “It comes with the territory. You’re going to get people that just have to come up with these outlandish ideas.” He said that rumors regarding his sexuality are “laughable” and set the record straight, “I’m not transgender. I think it’s cool for the people that want to do that if that’s what you want to do with your life, but that’s not me.” He then went on to explain that his main priority is the emotional connection, not sexual, saying, “I’m almost 40 years old. I want to be in love. I know sex is an important part of love, but it’s not everything like it used to be.” He also expressed that society’s standards on men only wanting sex is all wrong, saying, “I think that’s just strange that society just thinks if a man says no then he’s gay. If a woman says no, it’s fine. But it’s like the double standard that society has. I kind of laugh about it. I do have some feminine traits. The gay thing was kind of out of left field for me.”
Although he and Jeniffer lacked the passion that some of their castmates have in their unions, Malcolm maintains that his sexuality is not an issue. He also supports members of the transgender community and how they choose to live their lives but admits that he’s just being himself. Fans will have to wait and see where he and Jennifer’s relationship stands at the Tell-All episode of season 3’s 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.
