As revealed on part two of the Tell-All episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Tiffany Franco and Ronald Smith are officially starting the US visa process to get Ronald to America. It’s been a complete change of plans from the beginning of the season when Tiffany moved her whole life to South Africa to be with Ronald.

27-year-old Tiffany met 29-year-old Ronald on a trip to South Africa with a friend. The two fell in love and Ronald proposed to her on that same trip. The problem is he neglected to tell her about his gambling addiction that led to a lengthy criminal record. After being engaged and helping him through rehabilitation, Tiffany felt she could trust Ronald enough to uproot her 8-year-old son Daniel and move across the world to marry him. After seeing the realities of South Africa, she felt like the country was far too dangerous to raise her son in. Then just weeks after their wedding, Tiffany finds out she’s pregnant. She ends up leaving back to America to give birth to their daughter, leaving Ronald behind. After promising her return, it seems like now she’s changed her tune and doesn’t want anything to do with South Africa.

During part two of the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Tell-All (via In Touch), Tiffany revealed that she would not be returning to South Africa to be with Ronald because they are hoping to start Ronald’s visa process. Earlier in the season, before Tiffany decided to move across the world, she had spoken to an immigration lawyer about the prospects of Ronald moving to America, but the idea was shut down because of Ronald’s criminal record that he acquired due to his struggle with a gambling addiction; some of Ronald’s charges include a speeding ticket, possession of drugs, an armed robbery charge, and a charge for stealing money.

It seemed like there was no hope for Ronald to enter the US via the CR-1 visa, which allows a foreigner who is married to a US citizen to legally enter the country. According to Tiffany, “He’s coming to America.” However, when pressed by the Tell-All host, Shaun Robinson, Ronald explained that the visa process hasn’t been started yet, saying, “It’s not a cheap process. It’s just, it’s a big amount of money.” Tiffany explained, “Well, we did end up talking to that same lawyer again and when he looked further into the details on the record, seeing that he’s never been convicted of any charge, it’s all been withdrawn.” She continued, “So technically speaking, his record is clear.”

It seems like there will be hope for Ronald to enter the US after all, but since the process takes a lot of time and money, Ronald will be making a trip to come see his newborn daughter Carly Rose, who he has yet to meet in person. It remains to be seen how long this process will take and if he will be approved for the spousal visa. Hopefully, this will mean that everyone will be happy - Tiffany, Ronald, Daniel, and Carly will all be together at once finally. Since this 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season is officially over, fans can only hope there will be updates on this fan-favorite couple, later on, to see if Ronald made it to the states.
